Ford F-Series Tops Truck Sales for 41st Year | Community Ford Mooresville Blog

The Ford F-Series of pickup trucks is an automotive legend, having outsold and out-innovated their rivals again and again. In 2017, the F-Series was the top-selling line of pickups for the 41st year in a row, and it’s highly unlikely that the product line will relinquish that crown anytime soon.

The 2018 Ford F-Series pickups are a good example of why auto consumers in Indiana and beyond have turned to Ford again and again for rugged and reliable, but comfortable trucks.

The new F-150 has a number of new features for 2018. The vehicle gets a new standard 3.3-liter V6 engine that provides more power and fuel efficiency. Revised versions of the 2.7-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8 available with the F-150 also offer greater power. The two higher-end engines also get a new 10-speed auto transmission. A turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 is also available.

For 2018, the F-150 also gets a tweaked exterior appearance, particularly in the front and rear styling. The vehicle also gets an improved forward collision mitigation system.

The F-150 gives professionals who use trucks for work the power and durability they need. Consumers who like the size and power of a pickup also won’t be disappointed, as the truck has lots of great features that appeal to suburbanites who love trucks, such as a Pro Trailer Backup Assist system, Sync 3 infotainment system, and more.

Super Duty versions of the F-Series include many of the features of the F-150, but also offer more powerful engines and a few other options that increase their utility for people who need a truck capable of heavy-duty hauling or towing.

Ford also offers larger versions of their F-Series pickups. The primary difference between these trucks and the F-150 is their hauling and towing capacity, as well as available engine options.

The F-250’s standard engine is a 6.2-liter V8 that generates 385 horsepower and 430 ft-lb of torque. Another available engine is a 6.7-liter diesel V8 that cranks out 440 horsepower and 925 ft-lb of torque. While the F-150 weighs just around half a ton, the F-250 weighs about ¾ of a ton.

The F-350 is a one-ton pickup. It has the same engine options as the F-250, but it has some high-end features that the lower trim levels of the F-Series do not share.

Last year was a strong year for Ford, which ended the year as the top-selling auto brand in America. The company sold more than 2.4 million vehicles, an increase of 1.9 percent over the previous year. The F-Series was an important part of that success, selling nearly 900,000 trucks.
