Introducing All-New Ford Mustang EV Mach-E, Ford’s Latest Electric Vehicle | CommunityCars.com Blog

Released for the 2021 market, the all-new Ford Mustang EV Mach-E attempts to embody all the tradition of the world’s most famous consumer car manufacturer with the futuristic stylings that modern, environmentally-conscious drivers demand. If you are thinking that this is simply a Ford Mustang with an electric motor you are not 100 percent correct, but then you are not 100 percent incorrect either.

The Ford Mustang EV Mach-E is available in two different battery sizes, and with either rear or four-wheel drive. Ford says you’ll be able to drive your Mach-E for three hundred miles before you need a recharge.

Comfort and Convenience Are Key With the 2021 Ford Mustang EV Mach-E

Comfort for you and your passengers is assured thanks to the five-passenger cabin. There’s no chance of boredom either for anyone accompanying you on a drive as the cabin is fitted out with cutting edge entertainment and information systems. There are also a number of well-thought out storage solutions as well.

Five different versions of the all-new Ford Mustang EV Mach-E will be available when the vehicle finally goes on sale:

  • Select
  • Premium
  • California Route 1
  • First Edition
  • GT

Prices will range from around $45,000 for the Select, up to just over $61,000 for the First Edition and the GT. It is thought that the Premium (available at around $50,000) will be the most popular option for motorists wanting to purchase the Ford Motor Company’s first all-electric crossover. Compared to the basic Select model, the Premium version is fitted with a power liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, a Band & Olufsen sound system and 19-inch wheels.

What You Need to Know About The 2021 Ford Mustang EV Mach-E

The two battery options are a standard 75.7 kWh, or if you want to drive longer distances without recharging you’ll want the extended 98.8 kWh battery. Motors are mounted on either the rear axle or both the rear and front axles. With the sports-conscious GT model, this gives the Mach-E a whopping 459 horsepower and 612 lb.-ft or torque.

Also, with the GT model, the Mach-E will be capable of accelerating from zero to 60 in four seconds or less. Models below the GT will have power ranges between 255 and 332 hp and torque between 306 and 416 lb.-ft.

Ford Set To Establish the Largest Network of Charging Points in the US

Of course, the main concern of owners of electric cars is finding places to charge while out on the road. Models will come equipped with a portable charger which can only add a maximum of thirty miles per overnight charge with a 120v outlet (a 240v outlet can charge the battery up to 80 percent overnight). Ford says that it will soon outpace Tesla as the biggest providers of charging points in the US, with 35,000 charging points available all over the country and in some areas of Canada too.

The best news of all is that you may not have to wait until 2021 to get behind the wheel of what is being billed as Ford’s premier electric vehicle. All being well, the Ford Mustang EV Mach-E will be released to the driving world in late 2020.
