Looking for a Compact Crossover SUV? Check Out The Used 2017 Rogue Sport

The Nissan Rogue has been a great performing crossover SUV model for Nissan. So much so, this model surpassed the Altima to become the most-sold vehicle last year at Nissan dealerships in Indianapolis and throughout the country. In addition, the Rogue has become one of the top-selling vehicle models, compared to all other vehicle categories, except for trucks.

Now that Nissan has broken into the crossover SUV market segment and is leading the way, they want to continue their momentum. In order to expand their presence, Nissan is introducing their used 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport, as a compact, crossover SUV. If you have traveled abroad in Europe recently, you may have already spotted the Rogue Sport, as it has been on sale in Europe as the Nissan Qashqai.

When Nissan decided to bring the Qashqai stateside, they wanted to give it a name already familiar to American car buyers, so chose to rename the vehicle the Nissan Rogue Sport, since the Rogue is already very popular. The Rogue Sport incorporates many of the same features and options as its larger “parent” model.

In fact, both models have very similar exterior features, from the front grille accents to the rear-hatch-released door. The main thing you will notice on the outside is the Sport is slightly shorter in length by about 12 inches and is shorter in height by about 6 inches, compared to the full-sized Rogue.

The Rogue Sport is an ideal vehicle for people without children, and Nissan is marketing the vehicle as such, with a focus on the younger, hipper, millennial generation. This is largely due to the shrinkage of the vehicle, with space taken out of the rear cargo area and legroom of the back seat.

Even though it is shorter and has less cargo space and leg room in the rear seat, the Nissan Rogue Sport is currently the largest compact crossover SUV on the market. So, if you want the benefits of a full-sized crossover, but prefer a compact, then the Rogue Sport is perfect.

Inside the Rogue Sport, there are many Rogue-like qualities those familiar with the Rogue will find, but they are somewhat different, due to the vehicle being smaller. The Rogue Sport does include Nissan’s “Safety Shield” technologies, like rear backup camera, adaptive cruise control, emergency automatic braking, blind spot and lane departure warning, and a 360-degree parking camera.

If you open the hood, you will notice the Rogue Sport has a smaller 2.0-ltr. engine. The Sport also uses Nissan’s Xtronic CVT transmission. The base price for the Rogue Sport is very competitive for the compact SUV market segment, too, with the front-wheel-drive Rogue Sport S model starting around $22,000.

Overall, the Rogue Sport has much to offer the compact crossover SUV market with many of the features and options commonly found in the larger Rogue and other full-size crossover SUVs.
